Imo IPAC Dissolves Executive, Appoints Ahaneku, 4 Others

The Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC Imo State chapter has dissolved the Executive Council of the organization.

It swiftly constituted a five-member Interim Management Committee to oversee its affairs. 

The dissolution was sequel to the passage of a vote of no confidence’ in the leadership of Ichie Levi Eke of the Zenith Labour Party.

Eke’s executive was accused of gross misconduct, fraud, forgery, impersonation and misappropriation as well as diversion of funds of the council.

A statement made available to newsmen by IPAC’s new Interim Publicity Secretary, Hon. John Iwuala of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Imo state, disclosed of the development.

Iwuala further revealed that three members of the dissolved executive of the council namely Levi Eke, Clinton Edoziem, Issac Iwuanyanwu were indicted on grounds of opening and operating a private joint account with and in the name of IPAC to siphon money from the government and public.

He said, “An account was opened in the name of IPAC which was aimed at using such account in the name of IPAC to collect money from the government and other unsuspecting Imolites in the name of a summit Imo IPAC is planning next month”

“…And the whole body of the house having observed and confirmed; resolved that the acts of the Chairman, the Secretary and one other also, the Vice Chairman and one Mr Isaac Iwuanyanwu, Mr Clinton Edoziem the Secretary and Vice Chairman who told the house that he was consulted which ran contrary to the constitution of IPAC which stipulates “That there must be a resolution of the whole house that will serve as a mandate for opening of such account”.

“Thereby, having found guilty of gross misconduct and gross violation of the letters of the constitution of IPAC and other extant laws and guidelines guiding the organization the whole house passed a vote of no confidence and this vote of no confidence was in the presence of 15-man attendance where three (3) of the indicted officers were asked to excuse the house and out of the twelve (12) remaining; eleven (11) voted for the dissolution of the entire committee and the leadership led by Ichie Levi Eke while one voted against”

“Having come to the conclusion of the exercise and meeting which was held at IPAC’s office, the whole house decided and resolved to appoint a 5-man Interim Management Committee pending when the National leadership of IPAC will visit Imo state to conduct a fresh election”, Iwuala concluded. 

The names of the 5-man Interim Leadership Management Committee are Chief Uchendu Ahaneku of Action Alliance, AA (Interim Chairman); Chief Mandis Duruimo of New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP (Interim Secretary); Hon. John Iwuala of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA (Interim Publicity Secretary).

Others include Hon. Uzo Mmezi of Action Alliance, ADP (Interim Treasurer) and Hon. Victor Diala of Young Progressives Party, YPP (Interim Organiz ing Secretary).

Meanwhile, the new Interim Leadership Management Committee noted that the proposed Summit of IPAC Imo State will still hold as every other thing remains.

It advised all the various sub committees to continue with their assignments for the summit.
