IIRS Begins Enforcement Of Use Of Approved Emblem

The Imo State Internal Revenue Service, IIRS, is to begin the enforcement of use of approved emblems by commercial vehicle operators in the state on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

The agency, in a statement signed by its Interim Chairman, Lady June Chiaka Levi-Oguike regretted that some commuter vehicles operate in the state without the state authorized and approved emblems.

The statement which was made available to National Newsbreak at the weekend advised the affected commercial vehicle operators and owners to visit its head office on 76 Okigwe Road, Owerri to purchase the state approved and authorized emblems.

The statement reads; “It has come to the notice of the Imo Internal Revenue Service of some commercial vehicles within the state operating without the authorized and approved emblem.

“The Service wishes to call the attention of the general public, particularly all commercial vehicle owners to this anomaly and consequently bring to their notice the commencement of emblem enforcement with effect from Tuesday the 4th of October 2022.

“In view of the aforementioned, all affected commercial vehicle owners are advised to visit the IIRS Head Office at 76 Okigwe Road Owerri to purchase the state authorised and approved emblem”.
