Ousted governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha is receiving the bashing of his.life for reportedly urging the electorate not to vote for the Labour Party presidential standard-bearer, Peter Obi in next year’s poll.
Ihedioha is quoted to have derided anybody who votes for Obi instead of the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Atiku Abubakar as a saboteur.
For this, the Mbutu Mbaise-born former deputy speaker, House of Representatives has drawn the ire of the people.
Critics of the two-time governorship candidate of the PDP in Imo State go as far as expressing profound gratitude to God for using former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Mohammed to sack him as governor on January 14, 2020.
The critics submitted that they agonized over his ouster without knowing God averted a major disaster that would have engulfed the state was he to remain at Imo State Government House.
Bishop Udo Azogu of Our Sanctuary Gospel Church, Nigeria is one of the critics paying glowing tribute to the Most High for removing Ihedioha from the saddle and enthroning Senator Hope Uzodimma in his stead.
Bishop Azogu wrote on his Facebook; “The real saboteurs are those who align with fraudsters to work against the interests of their people.
“We thank God these saboteurs have started to unmask their true identities.
“They are on the path to perpetual political oblivion where they will eternally bury their ugly faces in utter shame.
“Igbos should thank the Supreme Court for displaying uncommon wisdom and boldness in its landmark judgment.”
A banker, MacDonald Chika Onye also wrote; “Thank you Justice Tanko…. we are very sorry for all the things we said about you .
“You indeed saw ahead of us that there was a green snake with a green cap in Douglas House”.
A green cap is the trademark of Mr. Ihedioha who wore it for the 12 years of unbroken three terms he served as representative of About/Mbaise Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.
The politician who is being begged by supporters to run again for the gubernatorial seat of Imo State still adorns the green cap.
Iwuanyanwu Edison also joined in upbraiding Ihedioha over the alleged campaign against the Labour Party presidential candidate.
Iwuanyanwu said Ihedioha lacks.power to decide for the Igbo who to vote for, stressing that he would not have lost the governoship seat to someone who placed a distant fourth during the March 19, 2019 poll.
According to Iwuanyanwu, a strong politician would ensure nobody topples him after his declaration by the electoral umpire as winner.
Hear Iwuanyanwu;”A sitting Gov who was toppled by a 4th comer shouldn’t be speaking where men are talking.
“Ihedioha was declared winner as the Govermor of Imo State, what did he do with the mandate given to him? Nothing,
“While he was busy destroying structures built by Rochas, Uzodimma came from distance behind and collected his mandate.
“Thank God Ihedioha did not last in power otherwise Imo State would have been sold by now.
“God has a hand in Ihedioha’s removal. He was never a better option Ihedioha is a political lightweight”.
Meanwhile, the erstwhile deputy speaker, House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha has denied casting aspersions on people backing the presidential bid of Mr. Obi.
According to him, he referred to those supporting the All Progressives Congress, APC to retain power as sabotuers.
He urged those saying he was referring to supporters of Mr. Obi to produce the video clip to substantiate their allegation.
