The newly appointed Interim Chairman of Imo Internal Revenue Service, Lady June Chiaka Levi- Oguike on Monday hit the ground running by rolling out her three-fold mandate.

The new IIRS boss unveiled the mandate at her maiden meeting with the management and staff of the Service held at the Hub@77 Event Centre, Okigwe Road Owerri.

According to her, her cardinal programmes are to boost revenue and revamp the image of the service, enhance welfare of members of staff and consolidate the service’s payment and reporting processes.

In her words “My mandate is three fold: to boost revenue and revamp the image of the Service, to prioritize staff welfare and to consolidate the service’s payment and reporting processes”

She added that the three-fold mandate for the new IIRS is encapsulated in a 90-day pilot programme which, given this arduous but achievable nature, solicits for the unflinching support of all.

She reiterated that as public servants, the wellbeing of the state should be of topmost priority in the minds of all workers to which cause she emphasized the need to boost and sustain the efforts of the TSA( Treasury Single Account) contribution.

June Levi-Oguike also stressed the importance of meeting set targets within the set time frame.

With her vision of making the new Imo State Internal Revenue Service the cynosure of all eyes, she harped on employing the ideals of the three key ingredients of commitment, integrity and loyalty.

In the course of interaction, she listened and responded to comments, questions and challenges of management and staff of the service.

She assured all of the support of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma to the wellbeing of the entire Staff of the Service, promising to employ all within her capacity to ensure staff welfare and job security.

In his response, Dr Tony Nkemakolam (Group Head Business Services)on behalf of the staff and management, applauded the IIRS boss, pledging the commitment and support of all.

Lady June Chiaka Levi-Oguike assumed duty on Friday, September 23.

She took over from Dr. Ifeanyi Okeke.
