The Labour Party, LP, Imo State chapter has passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of the party in South East led by National Vice Chairman, Chief Innocent Okeke.
The confidence vote was passed at an expanded executive meeting of the party held on Friday, September 23, 2022 at its Agwara Plaza state secretariat in Owerri, the state capital.
The expanded executive of the party comprises members of the State Working Committee (SEC), the 27 local government chairmen and zonal officers of the party.
The meeting also passed a vote of confidence in the State Working Committee, SEC led by Dr. Ambrose Onyekwere and Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi, apex leader of the party in the state.
In a communique endorsed by the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Aku Obidinma, members of the party who attended the meeting also pledged to continue to work in loyalty to the leaderships of the party at all levels.
They also resolved to call to order erring members of the party using the available internal mechanisms of the party.
The meeting which was presided over by the State Chairman of the party, Dr. Ambrose Onyekwere took other far reaching decisions aimed at ensuring that the party is properly positioned for victory in the 2023 general elections.
