The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has denied pulling out of the Campaign Council of his party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

He described reports insinuating that he had pulled out of the campaign council as mischievous, frivolous, false and baseless and therefore should be disregarded.

The senator who represented Imo East District between 2015 and 2019 said such report is aimed at blackmailing him and creating infighting in the party.

He accused enemies of the party for churning out the false report in a bid to distract him and his colleagues who are poised to end the misrule foisted on the country by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senator Anyanwu reiterated the resolve of the PDP to oust the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government and thereafter enthrone good governance anchored on transparency, sustainable and human capital development.

Meanwhile, erstwhile Secretary to the Government of Imo State, SGI, Sir Jude Ejiogu has been described as a refined politician, who plays developmental politics devoid of envy, strife and acrimony.

The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu made the remark in his goodwill message on the occasion of the birthday anniversary of the ex-SGI.

The senator who represented Imo East District between 2015 and 2019 at the National Assembly recalled the invaluable roles which Ejiogu played as Chief of Staff and SGI respectively towards the transformation of the civil service in the state.

He added that his vast knowledge in finance having worked as a director of different banks helped in the payment of pensions and gratuity to retirees.

The former Chairman, Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions further described Ejiogu as one of the modern agents of change even as he applauded his sense of humour, and team spirit in the Imo project.

Anyanwu therefore called on other leaders who still see politics as a do-or-die thing to emulate the former SGI, who according to him believes in the success story of the state instead of playing politics of destruction.

The PDP National Secretary prayed God to grant him more wisdom, strength and years to celebrate in good health and to continue to work for humanity.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Ikenna Onuoha, Senator Anyanwu assured the celebrator that his efforts for a new Imo will certainly be realized at the appropriate time.

Ejiogu served as Chief of Staff, Imo State House Government, Owerri and later Secretary to the Government of Imo State during the administration of Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

He resigned to aspire to govern the state in 2019 but could not clinch the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
