The Catholic bishop of Orlu, Most Rev. Augustine Ukwuoma has condemned the recent killing of innocent people and destruction of property in Orsuihitteukwa in Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State.

Rev. Ukwuoma made the condemnation in a statement dated September 19, 2022.

The Catholic priest reminded perpetrators of the mayhem of the sacredness of human life and enjoined state and non-state actors responsible for the spate of killings in the area to desist forthwith.

While condoling with families whose loved ones were killed during the operation, the prelate also flayed the burning down of the Eke Ututu Market in the community.

According to him, the razing down of the market has destroyed the means of livelihood of many people thereby throwing them into misery and hardship.

He therefore urged the government to investigate the invasion and destruction carried out in the community on September 17 with a view to preventing a recurrence.
