Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has commiserated with Governor of Ondo State, Chief Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN), on the demise of his mother.
Lady Evangelist Grace Akeredolu died on Thursday according to a statement by Governor Akeredolu’s media aide, Richard Olatunde.
She was 90 years old.
Governor Uzodimma said news of Mama Akeredolu’s demise was shocking to him as there was no earlier report of illness.
The governor, kn a statement signed by Chief Press Secretary, Oguwike Nwachuku described the late evangelist as a mother to all.
He noted that Mama led an accomplished life of service to family, church, state and nation.
According to him, Mama Akeredolu devoted her wisdom, time and resources to the service of the downtrodden and the weak, particularly women and youths.
He added that Mama Akeredolu’s legacy of hardwork and industry could be gleaned from her children, grand children and great grand children, who are contributing positively their quota for a better society.
The governor commiserated with Governor Akeredolu, his wife, Betty, his sibblings and the people of Ondo State.
Uzodimma urged them to find solace in the fact that Mama led a good life and contributed to the cause of humanity while she was alive.
He prayed God to grant Mama Akeredolu’s soul a perfect repose and to the family she left behind to mourn her, the fortitude to bear the loss.
