PDP Nat’l Secretary Facilitates NDDC Electricity Projects In Imo

The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu has facilitated the supply of 500KVA transformers in communities in Imo State as part of efforts to boost power supply.

The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC is to undertake the supply of the transformers to the benefitting communities

The project scheduled to be executed in three phases was kick started with the inauguration of the transformer at Don-K Estate in Uratta Community, Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo state.

The PDP National Secretaru was represented at the occasion by the Director General of Divine Mandate Movement (DMM), Hon Ngozi Ogbu.

It was gathered that the first phase of the exercise captured the nine local government areas in Owerri Zone.

The council areas are Owerri Municipal, Owerri West, Owerri North, NgorOkpala, Mbaitoli, Ikeduru, Aboh Mbaise, Ahiazu Mbaise and Ezihinitte Mbaise.

A statement signed by his media aide, Ikenna Onuoha said Senator Anyanwu has broken the jinx of restoring power supply through NDDC.

It added that the residents of Don-K Community had been in darkness for many years resulting in the leadership of the area beckoning on the politician for urgent rescue.

Onuoha disclosed that In the phase one of the project, each of the nine local government areas in Owerri zone received more than two transformers including all accompanying equipment for its energization.

According to the media aide, the exercise is part of the efforts of Senator Anyanwu to rescue abandoned and neglected communities suffering from epileptic power supply through his wide network of contacts with a view to putting smiles on their faces in the state.

He added that Senator Anyanwu would give some deplorable roads in Imo communities a face lift shortly after the rainy season, and solicited the support of well-meaning Imolites to realize the vision for a better Imo state.
