Youths of Ideato North LGA of Imo State are not leaving any stone unturned in their avowed resolve to send one of their own to the State House of Assembly, come 2023.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after a youth summit in the area, weekend, the National President of Ideato Youths Arise, Mr. Franklin Okatta a.k.a Chuchu, said the youths of the area do not want to be addressed as leaders of tomorrow any longer.
Okatta opined that the phrase ‘leaders of tomorrow’ hitherto, affected their psyche inadvertently, hence, the choice of the name for the new youths association.
According to him, “Youths Arise is a national association of youths of Ideato Nation with branches in all the States”.
The youth leader averred that the docility on the part of Nigerian youths was largely responsible for the recycling of dead woods in political leadership in the country.
He regretted a situation where unemployed graduates who were supposed to be gainfully employed would jump at N2, 000 from those who are the architects of their predicaments.
Okatta said the youths of Ideato North LGA would henceforth, give mandate to their fellow youths, particularly those who have showcased capacity towards enhancing the lot of the society for desired posterity.
“This is why Hon. Ugboaja Victor Chinedu (Akataobi), has won the hearts of the youths of Ideato North, and there’s no conjecture on his readiness to change the narrative.
“This is a young man who has paid his dues adequately in terms of humanitarianism without the slightest premonition that providence will call on him to be the toast of the time.
“As far as we are concerned in Ideato North, there’s no other contender for the seat of the Constituency in the State House of Assembly”.
Okatta enjoined the youths of the area to get prepared to take their destinies in their hands.
He also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), to ensure that all holes were plugged against any form of rigging to forestall unhealthy reactions from the youths.
