The Eastern News, a regional newspaper based in Owerri, Imo State has clocked 15 years in the newsstands.
The newspaper has lined up activities to celebrate the fifteenth anniversary on September 30, 2022.
According to a statement issued by the newspaper, there will be a public lecture to be delivered by the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ahmed Barde.
The lecture is entitled “The Press, Security, Bench and Bar in a Democratic Dispensation.
The statement further revealed that the anniversary celebration will be chaired by the traditional ruler of Amaifeke Community in the Orlu LGA, Eze Emmanuel Okeke while state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma will be special guest of honour.

The newspaper further disclosed that some eminent persons would be given awards of excellence and special recognition during the ceremony.
It invites members of the public to honour the company by gracing the ceremony.
