The governorship candidate of the Labour Party in 2019 in Imo state, Chief Ikechukwu Ukaegbu (Ikenga) has urged other prominent politicians in the state to support the presidential candidacy of Mr. Peter Obi.

Ukaegbu, an Ikeduru born renowned industrialist made the appeal at the rally tagged “One Million March” he organized with other party leaders in support for Obi’s candidacy held in Owerri, weekend.

The party chieftain described Obi as the best among other contenders for the coming poll.

He submitted that”only his victory in 2023 will guarantee socio-economic and political transformation in the country.”

According to him, “Nigerians have endured many woes ranging from insecurity, economic retardation, high rate of unemployment, poverty among other ills, but the anticipated victory of Mr. Peter Obi in 2023 will change the narrative.

“Obi stands out among other contenders based on his pedigree, integrity and antecedents, and we have no doubt he will deliver if elected to pilot the affairs of this country in 2023.”

“This is why I am using this opportunity to call on every well meaning Nigerians especially top politicians in Imo State to join us in support for Peter Obi.

“For us in Labour Party, his emergence is divine and God will perfect our prayers through him for a better Nigeria in 2023”.

Ukaegbu also urged the party leaders to continue to galvanize support for the party in the state, stressing that, “Labour Party is poised to garner over 90 percent votes in the state in 2023 poll.

“Today’s solidarity rally is a litmus test to what should be expected in favour of our party in 2023 and will also reflect in the voting.

“However, as much as we are confident that votes for Peter Obi and our other party’s candidates will be massive, overwhelming and unmatched, we should not leave any stone unturned until victory is achieved.”
