The donor of the three storey building to Labour Party, Imo State chapter, Dr Libo Agwara has debunked the speculation making the rounds that he is related to the state governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma.

He also stated that he had never seen Uzodimma except on television.

The US-based medical doctor and lawyer stated this  during a press briefing in his office on Thursday in Owerri.

Agwara was reacting to the rumour said to have emanated from an Edo based comedian, MC Flexy, De Akproko King, to the effect that he, Agwara and Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, are brothers.

The comedian alleged that Uzodimma planted him in Labour Party to do the spoiler’s job in the party ahead of 2023 elections.

Agwara who described the rumour as baseless and unfounded, said that he hails from Ngor/Okpala LGA while the governor comes from Oru East LGA.

He also dispelled the rumour making the rounds that he intends to run for Imo gubernatorial seat on the platform of Labour Party in 2023.

According to him, what informed his decision to donate his property and joined Labour Party was Peter Obi’s sterling performance as governor of Anambra state.

He revealed that he had been following Peter Obi right from when he was governor, adding that he would help him to emerge the next president of Nigeria to enable him replicate that in the country.

He promised to mobilize Nigerians in the diaspora for Obi and Labour Party.

Meanwhile, Imo State chapter of Labour Party has described the fake news about Agwara’s relationship with Uzodimma as something that cannot be understood, saying he does not have any relationship of any sort with Uzodimma.

This is contained in a press statement signed by the party’s publicity secretary, Obidinma Aku and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Owerri.

The statement urged Obi’s teeming supporters not to be distracted by the fake news but remain focused on the impending liberation of Nigeria through Obi and Labour Party in 2023.
