The Imo State House of Assembly on Thursday screened and confirmed members of Imo State House of Assembly Service Commission.
The Speaker of the House, Kennedy Chidozie Ibeh, read the letter which was transmitted to the House by the state Governor Hope Uzodimma, seeking that the House confirmed the appointees.
Members of the Commission confirmed were Lambert Orisakwe Chairman; Emmanuel Orie, representing Orlu Zone, Mike Nduleche (Okigwe Zone) while Israel Natoronye represents Owerri Zone.
Also at the Plenary, House of Assembly Bill No: 106: A bill for a law to Amend the Faith Based and Private Schools of Nursing and other related matters, which was sponsored by Chiji Collins, was considered clause by clause, read the third time and passed into law.
While considering the bills, members commended members of the joint committees on Education and Health which painstakingly worked on the drafted bill.
Similarly, A bill for a law to establish the Imo State Annual Youth Summit and Other Related Matters sponsored by Ngozi Obiefule, member representing Isu Constituency, was read the second time and committed to committee stage.
Those who spoke glowingly on the bill were Paschal Okolie, of Orlu Constituency, Dominic Ezerioha, Michael Crown Onyemaechi of Ihitte Uboma and Uju Onwudiwe of Njaba.
Also, at the plenary, Ngozi Obiefule, who moved a motion of Urgent Public Importance, seeking that the Federal Government partners with the Imo State Government and increase its share of ecological fund, prayed the House to visit huge erosion sites at Njaba to appreciate the erosion challenge in the area.
The speaker therefore set up a committee with Chizogie Nwaneri, Chief Whip and member representing Oru East State Constituency as the leader.
Other members of the committee are Johnson Duru, Ideato South, and Chiji Collins Isiala Mbano, to visit the erosion site.
